I saw it posted a while back and don't recall the numbers that have to
be used to check the software version. Mine had to go in for a repair and
they claimed it would also have software updated. Also what is the latest
version?

Q. What is the most annoying thing on Usenet?

The numbers are *#0000#, and the latest version that I know of is 8.05.1.

Have a good one,

How do you go about getting a software update? Can they push that to my
phone from the towers, or do I have to take it to the store to get it
done? Mine's at 8.04.1

You have to take it to the store and get it done, if they have a technician
that can do it. Otherwise you have to send it to a Nokia Repair Center.

Yeah right, send it away for 4-6 weeks as the manager told me from the
Eastpointe, MI store after CS told me update my 6340i from 8.01.0.

Yes, I know it takes quite awhile to get it back, which is just the
reason that I have not sent mine in to be upgraded from 8.03.1. I would like
to find a store in the Baltimore/Washington area with a technician who could
update it locally. So far, I have not found one.

Mine took just over a week. It was sent by the local store to the Nokia
service center to have a repair some and was updated as well.
