two problems with this solution.
a) it takes forever to keep hitting spaces
b) each space is one less character I type - max 160

My Nokia 6340i includes a hard carriage return (icon is the bent arrow
like on the enter key of a keyboard) as one of the symbols you can
insert by pressing * when entering the message body. I just tested it
and it works, both to a sms number and to an email address. First time
I've ever used it in all the hundreds of sms messages I've sent over the
years :-)

I just tried it on my Moto V3. If I press the * quickly it adds a space and
if I hold it down it goes to the next line immediately.

Holding down the asterisk "*" key also works on the V551.
