Former AT&T customer with free M-M minutes which allowed me, or free,
to grab my VM.  Now, I've been migrated to Cingular, and I am being
charged for my VM retrieval calls.  Seems when I am trying to call my
VM number, I'm actually calling a VM "server" number?

Is there a way, I can reprogram my phone to dial *my* number, which
should be a M-M call, and be free?

If you want to avoid using minutes to check voicemail, call from
landline.  No other solution that I know of

I concur.  This is true, as far as I know

I'm a new Cingular customer and don't even know the answer to this. I do
know that when Verizon added the free unlimited IN-network that calls to
the Voice Mail (even calling your own cell phone number) were excluded.
In other words, no matter how I accessed my Voice Mail I was charged for
the call during peak hours. I suspect that it'll be the same with Cingular.
