Urgent Request - 02 Sep 2005 23:13 GMT
Just switched to Cingular and bought a Moto V551 phone. Bought the
D-link Bluetooth USB adapter to go with it, but could not get it to
work on my laptop. Does anyone know of a USB Bluetooh adapter that
will work on a VAIO running XP with Service Pack 2 installed?
Thanks in advance.

I think nearly all of the Bluetooth adapters are the same.
Most of them use the Widcomm driver.

True but D-Link hardware is very fuzzy, at least in my use.

I bought my DLink DBT-120 at Fry's Electronics.  No mention of a rebate.
While cruising the DLink web site looking for the latest drivers, I saw a
rebate form, so I filled it out and sent it in.
I received a $10 rebate.

A week later, I received a post card indicating that I was not eligible for
the rebate, because it was only at participating retailers.

;-)

Fortunately, my laptop is Bluetooth capable is I don't have any problems
getting my V551 to connect with my laptop.  I know there are cables to
connect the 2 devices together if you can't get the D-link Bluetooth USB
adapter to work.  If you have happen to have a Radio Shack or Best Buy store
take your devices with you and see if they can help you out.
