When I first switched to Cingular a few months ago I got more dropped calls
in the first couple of weeks than I had in the last couple of years with my
previous AT&T provider. Also, it frequently sounded like my caller stopped
talking and started playing a Mouth Harp at the most important part of any
coversation. Well, I don't know why, but Cingular suddenly seems to have
improved. The reception has much improved and I haven't had even one
dropped call in the last month.
Now........ if they could only get more responsive when there is a problem
with billing. It's not realistic to expect the customer to wait "4 to 6
weeks" or "several billing periods" between the time a problem is brought to
their attention and the time it takes to resolve it. Maybe they should send
their high level corporate people to a Ritz Carlton school of customer
sastifaction since most of us will end up spending more with Cingular over a
life time than with any hotel chain. Or, they should invoke an emergency
Six Sigma program. Or, they should set a goal that all problems are
resolved.....ONE WAY OR THE OTHER within one billing period. Hell, if you
can't solve it in one billing period....... just give whatever it is to the
customer for free. Why hang up your time and our time like that? Reminds
me of a bad cash register at a Builder's Square store before they went out
of business.
Anyway, reception has improved and so has connection reliability, so
although you still need work I will now give my personal
rating......................... Cingular ..... It doesn't suck!
