Can anyone tell me if this is normal for cingular. My first bill came, it
doesn't show any rollover minutes and I have the 1500 fam plan, only used
900 or so. Also, I know it'll be higher due to activation fees, but it's
around 250 bucks, am I getting screwed?

Their first bill is usually a shocker if it wasn't explained to you before
hand. You're not really getting screwed even though it can look that way.
Cingular bills a month in advance. Let's say your billing cycle starts on
the 15th of the month and you start your service on the 1st of the month
with a $100/month plan. Your first bill will show the prorated portion of
your first month ($50 for 1/2 a month), plus your first full month ($100)
and there is usually a $36 activation fee also. Your rollover starts after
the 1st month. It's all legit, just a shock to see it all at once if you
were not forewarned.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it. So do you lose the first month of
rollover then or does it equal out later?

Rollover minutes are NOT accumulated in the pro-rated period when
starting service. They will start to accumulate at the 1st full month
of service. Using the example as provided above you would start
earning rollover on the 15th to the 14th of the following month not the
1st to the 15th.
It sounds like the person that signed you up did not do a good job.
They should have when over the Customer Serivce Summary with you to
show you what charges to expect and the rollover minutes. You might
have it in your bag with the phones it's a green set of papers with
your mobile numbers and account numbers about 4 pages each for each
line you signed up with.

Wow! That's good to know, and nobody bothered to tell us that when we bought our
new phones last month. My wife has been driving me nuts to find out why our
unused minutes last month didn't roll over. It wasn't a full month. Now I know!
Guess I had better pull out the green papers and read the small print!
Thanks!!
