Thank you.

Navas, you've been outed.
Either step up to the plate and call for a vote on making this a moderated group with you as moderator, or else just shut up about how you think it ought to run.
It's 2005, not 1980. Things are different now. Just because you think things should go a certain way, doesn't mean squat.
SBC User - 07 Nov 2005 14:19 GMT Whatever your problem, John will reply to say he never had that trouble. Unlimited data for a good price? He has it. Well, you can't buy it for less than $59.99 if you're lucky, but he has it for a lot less. Dropped calls? Not John. Billing issues? No, not that problem either. Long time forum users sort of let him rant and leave him alone. Each group has one of these participants. Just ignore him and move on with life.
Marty - 07 Nov 2005 18:58 GMT Somewhere around Mon, 07 Nov 2005 14:19:28 GMT, while reading alt.cellular.cingular, I think I thought I saw this post from "SBC User" <SBCuser@sbcglobal.com>:

I personally leave him alone because I finally had to killfile him, even though I once said I wouldn't. I just couldn't take it anymore. He's rude and mostly negative, and hypocritical. Oh, yes; have a nice day, John.

JohnF - 08 Nov 2005 01:14 GMT I added Navas to the kill file a long time ago. Life has been much better since.

Dude, that is called timing, and thinking ahead, I have the same data plan that you accuse John of making up, and I pay 19.99, have 1500 text messages, and *unlimited* data transfer. I can tether my laptop all I want, and get speeds equivilant to dial-up. It was available, and now it is not. Get over it.

I don't know what happened that he is the way he is now. A kill-file is partially effective, though not everyone has learned to ignore them, so you'll still see follow-ups to his posts. Even back in the early days of Cingular GSM in California, when Cingular was simply horrid in terms of dropped calls and coverage, and was incurring huge fines from the California PUC, he was the only customer that never had a problem.

Don't forget his website, which is chock full o' information: some of it accurate, some of it woefully out of date - and no indication as to which is which. If you point out the errors to him, he arrogantly refuses to correct the erroneous information.
This is akin to being lost and pulling up to ask John for directions to, say, McDonald's. He'll happily give you directions to a McDonald's location that closed down 5 years ago, then snicker as you drive away.

If John Navas says it, then BY DEFINITION it's correct.

Where are your contributions? I'm even making it easy for you -- see below.

I've now turned many of my own contributions into community resources so that "helpful" folks like you two can do more than just criticize from the sidelines -- you can easily get involved, fixing any real errors, and adding your own contributions:

Care to point out more than one post in this newsgroup where you've done that? In the three years I have read this group, you haven't admitted mistake- you simply avoid the thread like the plague when cornered in your own misperceptions.
>OTOH, I don't suffer fools gladly, and I'm > not going to join in on unfair flaming just to be popular. :) You'd have to do much more than that to be popular here. Try postings facts instead of uninformed opinions.

The last time I posted previous to this last one it was a huge contribution- in fact, most in that thread were. You chose to ignore them and attempted to deflect the truth with nothing more than uniformed opinion. Why am I not surprised?
Why would I contribute to something that is created by such a closed mind?

Ah, those were the days...

Instead he has chosen to ignore it. How sad.

Move along folks. Nothing more to see here.

I'm simply pointing out that when you were caught with your pants down, and tried to defend your position but couldn't, even after a couple months, you just disappeared for a couple months.
Do you deny that's what happened?
If so, it'll be worth my time to go digging it up to show you as a reminder.
Scott - 19 Nov 2005 23:43 GMT > How sad indeed, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, how clear it now is that you > have > nothing constructive to contribute. Jealousy is a bitch. Just posting on topic to the thread- can't help it if you have a problem with that. And wouldn't posting on topic be a constructive contribution? The Usenet god needs to brush up on his definitions.
Jealousy? Of what?
Hey Elmo- which one are you? I can't keep it straight anymore.
> Move along folks. Nothing more to see here. Nothing to see other than an outdated dinosaur of an 'expert', whose glory days passed and knowledge base disappeared with the advent of ISDN. The 'expertise' that he once had is now common high school knowledge and he has failed to keep up with the times.
Hey John- how come you stopped shouting from the hilltops about Cingular's outstanding 3Q? Could it be that you got caught again with your pants down, not knowing what you talk about? Poor research? Poor understanding of the industry? An 'expert' would not have been caught in such an embarrassing situation.
