Cell Phone Spam - Can Cingular Help?

I live in Michigan, I listed a car forsale online @ autotrader.com and have
had this one same company call me repeatedly trying to get me to list my car
on "their" site vs the site I listed the car on.

I did contact Autotrader about it so at least they know this company is most
likely just using autotrader as a cold call list, but my car is not listed
anywhere else and my number is brand new and is not listed anywhere else so
I know they are calling about my car from the autotrader ad which I just
listed last week and the calls started like 2 days after the ad went up.

I do not want to list with their company and the calls appear to be
automated, I did a google search of the number that keeps showing on my
caller id ( 866-533-8282 ) and it showed the company is www.motorzoousa.com
and their number is on that page.

I will be contacting them to try and have them stop calling me but if they
don't is there any Michigan law or any process I can go thru possibly with
Cingular to somehow block or stop these people from calling me daily?

Thanks for any input,

Bill

Register your number in the National Do Not Call Registry:
<https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx>
If the calls persist for more than 30 days, file a Complaint:
<https://www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplainCheck.aspx>

yes, I just posted ftc and fcc info on wire and wireless
calls on misc.consumers.

see the fcc site about telemarketing to cellphone numbers:

http://ftp.fcc.gov/cgb/policy/telemarketing.html

the fcc pages also have online entry to file a complaint for
a telemarketer calling your cellphone.

provide all the info you have on the company.  You will get
a confirmation for your complaint.  The calls won't
instantly stop, but the fcc does investigate complaints and
does levy large fines for companies repeatedly being
reported for violations.

tell them you filed an fcc complaint for the last call to a
cellphone and will be reporting this and future calls too.

if during a call, you specifically tell them this is a
cellphone, and "please add this number to your no call list"
any future call is a violation. report them if they hang up,
or tell you they have no "no call list".  some states allow
small claims court filing for $400-$500 for wasting your
minutes and time.  But collecting on your judgment may not
be easy.  Google for hints on collecting, larger national
companies will actually pay the judgment when presented to them.

Automated cellphone calling by telemarketers is FTC-prohibited.  Report
them!
