I have a Samsung X497 and some questons on sending media content (.mp3, .mmf
& pictures) from my computer to my Cell via email.
1.) what is my email address format? <my number>@????
2.) Is there a certain way to format media content in an email so it can be
properly recieved by my phone as a multimedia message?
3.) once received, can I save the sent files as wallpaper, ringtones, etc?
Thanx,

See "How Can I Send Messages to Cingular Phones by Email?" in the FAQ below.
The formatting depends on what the phone supports.
* Most phones support JPEG for images.
* Ringtone formats vary considerably by phone.
Received media can be saved to the phone *if* the phone supports that.

John, I tried using <number>@mms.mycingular.com, works great with pics.
However that's only half of the quotient.
I tried using above to send a .wav file and it was converted to a (.alr I
think?) file.
I assume .wav files therefore must be converted.
What I really want as my x497 is .mp3 compatable is to send an mp3 from PC
to cell. The mp3's on my cell are about 140kb I assume that is the size
limit? What is the best method / suggestion for sending mp3's to my cell
from a PC?
Thanx again.

number@mms.mycingular.com auto converts pictures and audio to a really
crappy format.
the pictures come out as .gif and the audo is .amr
you dont need to preconvert anything if this is all your phone supports.
if you want mp3 sent to your phone you have to download it through wap or
use a data cable.
