LG C2000 phone - downloading ringtones using data cable

Anybody here with an experience in downloading
custom made ringtones using data cable ?

I know how to do it using media/txt message sent
to the phone, but this service costs real money :-)
I would like to do it myself with the data cable.

I have checked Mobile Action Handset Manager
but according to the manufacturer it does NOT
support ringtones - only messages and addresses
synchronisation. Sam software supports ringtones
for different handsets. Anybody knows why C2000 is
special? Anybody knows a tool I can use on C2000?

Any other interesting and original things I can
do with my C2000 handset ? :-)

I just found DataPilot Software by Susteen works
with LG C1500 and enables the user to change
graphics, ringtones, and all these pc-sync features.
Unfortunatelly C2000 is not listed...

I am quite surprised since I was told by LG both
phones (C1500 and C2000) are from the same familly
and differ only in regards to having camera in C2000.

Anybody here uses DataPilot with LG C1500 ?
Does it really work like the company states ?
Would you be willing to test it with my C2000 ?

I've tried DataPilot with the C2000, doesn't work for ringtones or
graphics just the phone book.

Any clue what is the technical reason behind this behaviour?
Does C1500 use a different operating system than C2000?
Different ringtones/graphics file format ?

I was wondering if there is a way to use SIM card to
transport graphics or sounds/ringtones to the phone.
Can I put a audio file on a SIM card using USB-SIM
adapter on PC and then using the phone apply sound
file as my new ringtone or just copy it to phone's memory ?
