I have a Nokia 5165 that I was going to give to my grandmother because
it's very easy to use. Will I still be able to activate it now that GMS
is up and new plans are in place, or will I have to get her a GSM phone?

How can I tell if GPRS is available in my area? Does it show up
separately in on the Cingular web site?

Call up Cingular and ask for "Wireless Internet Express". This is GPRS
data.
