My wife and I have the 810 and the 820. Both are fine as long as the
headset is within 10 or 15 feet of the phone. If you plan to wear the
headset al the time, ythe 820 has better battery life and is simply always
on. The 820, on teh other hand, turns on and of by unfolding the mic, and
may be better for people who only plan to put the headset on for calls.

I have the 850 and I love it. So far it works at distances up to 30 feet
from the phone.

So stand outside in the snow and use your walkie-talkie instead of sitting
by the fire using it. Nextel's coverage sucks, if you get off the Interstate
or out of the larger cities, you've got a paper weight.

Get the moto HS 850. It's great on battery life and you can flip it
closed when you don't want it connected to the phone. Also, it has the
same charger port as your V551 so your car charger will work with it.
