Today I was comparing Cingular and T-Mobile Plans and noticed that
T-Mobile showed a great deal of the US in the color for no coverage.
When I called them the customer service rep said if I was in an area
where T-Mobile had no coverage, I could just link on to a Cingular tower
if they had one in that area. She said T-Mobile has a contract with
Cingular for such use.
Does anyone know if she was giving me correct info and if it really
works like that? Does it mean I could buy the cheapest T-Mobile Plan
and when out of my state just link on and use Cingular without a charge
to me when I am in areas where T-Mobile has no towers?
I had no idea trying to choose a cell phone plan could be so confusing
and would appreciate any info anyone can provide as to how this really
works. I would only need the phone for emergencies and not use it very
often but do want one I can use out of Louisiana when necessary. Thanks
for any info you can provide.

Cingular and TMobile recently announced roaming agreements in place and
interoperability between the two networks. seems like they went into place
before a similar deal w/AT&T and Cingular did.
