I switch my Cingular phone to unlocked T300 from t62u last week. The
T300 worked fine until yesterday.  I drove from Plano to Dallas and
now my T300 shows "No Access" even back to Plano.  I have switched
phone off and on but no luck.  When I serched for GSM networks mostly
T-Mobile shows up in list and some time AT&T.  What can I do to fix
this?

I am not sure if Cingular is all GSM in DFW area or still using
roaming?  I have company phone so I am not sure if it's roaming is
available.

Cingular is primarily a TDMA/AMPS company in DFW. They are overlaying their
TDMA with GSM but I am not sure what stage they are in here in the metromess!

Switch your SIM back to your T62u, so you can use Cingular's 800 MHz
GSM and TDMA in Dallas and Plano. The T300 is a triband GSM phone,
on 900/1800/1900 MHz; you've been using T-Mobile service.

Just talked to store rep. in Allen TX he said GSM should go live on Oct. 1st
in DFW area.

However I can't understand why T300 won't work after working fine for few
days on "Cingular Extend" mode now it's "No Access" since Friday afternoon.

To repeat John C, use your T62U.  Although you should not too many
problems with your T300 you will run into problems when using such a
limited capacity cell phone.  What's worse is that the SIM card may
identify only with that mess and be less worthy for your T62U.  Some
folks claim that there is no difference between a GAIT and a regular GSM
card- but there is.
As the T300 is for international travel 900/1800 then use it for that.
1900 GSM is not everywhere in the US.  The area you travel through is
not fully in a 1900 GSM covered area.

Ok- I switched back to my T62U.  It appears that since I am in
Cingular home area Cingular won't let me use GSM roaming. Back to
using clumsy phone -:)
