Hello,
I have an old TDMA Nokia 5125i that I want to give to my friend. He does
not want to signup for any plans and wants to get this activated for
prepaid. Is this possable? If so then how do I go about doing it because
it is not like a SIM card where I can just pop it in.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank You,
Gabe

Perfect.
1. Go to your local Cingular dealer.
2. Make sure you can get TDMA Prepaid service in your area.
3. Buy a "Prepaid Starter Kit," which has everything you need. (In
MA/CT/RI, it's around $45, including $30 airtime, but other regions may
have different deals.)
4. If you have the phone, the dealer can activate it for you, and
reprogram the phone for its new number.
5. If not, you can activate it from home, using directions in the kit.
You will need the ESN (Electronic Serial Number), which is on a label
behind the battery. You will also need to enter some programming codes
to set the phone to its new number.
Done.
There are instructions for activating the service yourself, or the
dealer can do it for you.

Check Cingular's website at Cingular.com- plug in your friend's zip and
check if the KIC phones are TDMA or GSM. If it's TDMA he can use KIC
with your phone.
If not, check out CallPlus plans at www.pharosint.com- CallPlus is a
reseller of AT&T TDMA service that offers no-roam pre-paid plans
nationwide. Anybody can sign up for CallPlus regardless of where
you live, but your number must be issued from an AT&T TDMA town.

No, TDMA phones don't have SIMs. You program the phone with
it's phone number and home system ID- your carrier (Cingular, AT&T,
CallPlus, etc.) gives you the info and instructions.
