Meaning of icon on Razr V3 screen?

My Cingular V3 has three tiny overlapping squares to the
right of the signal strength meter. What is that for?

They indicate that there is GPRS packet data available.  I don't
know how that differs from the using GPRS high speed mode icon.
This is on page 43 of my V3 manual.  They don't say much about
the three icons that can be there.
