how do I install animated wallpaper -X497?

How do I install animated wallpapers? I tried installing a animated gif via
media net. I had the gif uploaded on a website and downloaded it with WAP
via my cell phone. It downloaded it but the browser saved it as a .png
file, not as a .gif file. What did I do wrong? Also how big can the .gif
file be? Im using cingular Samsung x497

You cannot use an animated gif as wallpaper but you can use it as a screen
saver on the x497. Cingulars servers convert files automatically. What I did
as a work around is if you have a friend who has a different phone and a
data cable, have them d/l the graphic to thier computer then download it to
thier phone, then send it from thier phone to yours.
It will cost you each .25 cents.

Unfortunately, finding a cable for the x497 is almost impossible, even on
ebay. But if you have an old x427 cables are readily accessible.

Then why is one of my Wallpaper choices an animated one?
It is one of the wallpapers that came with my X497.

BTW, it would help if you did not strip the OP. :-)

I stand corrected, I just switched phones and forgot. Yes, you can install
animated .gifs on a x497. Get any animated .gif and one of the many
available free .gif resizing programs on the web (Google for it). resize the
.gif so it will fit on your phone.

Hopefuly you have a data cable and app to send it over to your x497. I had a
x427 and data cable but none for the x497 so I sent it to the x427 then MMS
to the x497.
