Dunno if there are technical specifics involved with how the 9300 works
but if your question is basically is the $40 plan the same as the $20 plan,
the answer is yes, except for lack of VPN functionality.

I was told by Cingular that the software on the 9300, which runs
Symbion, wouldn't work with the Medianet plan. Whether it's true I don't
know--they don't seem all that competent.
On the other hand, I'm paying for the $40 plan, and when I use it I get
messages referring to Media not to DataConnect.

Worked fine with my Nokia 6620 which is also Symbian. Another
case of Cingular needing a couple of good whacks with the clue bat.
