From Amazon:

"To qualify for a phone upgrade and contract extension:

<snip>

5. You are not a former AT&T TDMA subscriber now on Cingular's network."

Did they already receive a phone upgrade?  If they're not on the TDMA
network, they must have gone GSM, right?

I'm certain that what they meant to say is "You are not a former AT&T
TDMA subscriber now on Cingular's _TDMA_ network."

Not sure why they would have this restriction, since you'd think that
they'd want to get people off TDMA.

Amazon and Cingular have has systemic issues in the past that have
prevented Amazon from collecting their commissions on handset upgrades.
I suspect that this is one of those issues.

It's not that former AT&T customers can't upgrade- they just can't do it
via Amazon.
