Does Cingular still have a portal that restricts you to
only sites that pay to be listed on their portal?  The
old "garden wall" syndrome.

I went to three Cingular stores and no one could give me
a straight answer, just the usual party line of "a wealth
of information can be accessed from your phone".

With my current Sprint phone, I can go to any URL I type in.
Of course not all web sites can be displayed. But most
standard HTML and WAP sights render just fine.

AT&T used to have a free portal and for $15 (?) a month,
they would give you the key to get out of the garden. From
what I've seen, they don't charge for the "key" anymore.

So again...can I go to my personal HTML or WAP page URL?
