Not that simple. It's a free service. I googled "1110410000" and it seems
a lot of people have had the same problem but no solutions found as of yet.

Maybe it was Infospace via the old MediaNet page? Just tested using a
request code to 141 ("WEA 5digitzip" for weather)--they DO come in from
1110410000.
Try: <http://www.cingular.com/learn/messaging-internet/media-
entertainment/media-net.jsp>

Needs a MediaNet ID and password. Don't know if you can access this via
the regular account logon or not--I can't. There is a "don't remember
password" function if you enter without entering an id/pswd but it may
need the original ID not just the phone number (maybe--I CAN login using
my number instead of the id). If you can't login maybe a CSR can once
you point them in the right direction.
Once you get to Infospace there is a "Manage Alerts" option on the left.
I don't see any reguest code to turn off alerts--looks like you can only
do that on the manage alerts screen.

You are correct. Text messages from that numbr do come from the
InfoSpace services on MediaNet. You can log onto the service from
your phone (with Internet access) and turn off all text alerts. If
you don't, you can call customer service and see if they can make the
change.
