playing mp3's on an 8125

Have the Cingular 8125 and have recently copied some mp3's to my storage
card. I can successfully play mp3's and have found how to get the mp3's
to play through my receiver. Nice sound.
Two problems.
1) I can't find how to 'point' the Library to my mp3's on the storage
card. I have found and (I think) successfully updated the Library but
the mp3's don't show up in the Library folders. Is it possible to tell
WMP to look for mp3's in a specific folder? Is it possible to play
mp3's across subfolders?
2) I can't find how to play multiple mp3's. I can play one at a time by
going to File Explorer, finding the mp3 and selecting it, but I can not
find how to play a list/folder of mp3's without selecting each
individually. How do I play a list of mp3's?

Tap Menu > Library, then tap the word "Library" in the upper left of
screen and select "Storage Card." AFAIK, this setting isn't persistent-
you must do it whenever you launch WMP. The device itself is always the
default. :-(

Then you can select from the choices in "Library" (Videos or Music) then
select by "Album," "Artist," "Genre," or "Play All." I hope all of your
MP3 ID tags are accurate! ;-)

As I described above, you can by Album, Artist, etc. To create your own
playlists, you can't with WMP. (MS removed that feature a few years ago!)
Now you either have to sync the MP3s and playlisyts from the desktop
WMP to the device, or use a 3rd party program.

I use TCPMP (The Core Project Media Player.) It's free, plays MP4/Divx
video (which WMP can't) and lets you create WMP-compatible playlists
right on the device. Save the playlists (not the MP3s!) in the device's
My Documents folder, and they'll be available to WMP at startup without
having to point to your Storage Card first.

Thanks for the reply.
"select "Storage Card."" I have gotten that far.
After posting my request I tried Update Library a few more times and I
can now see the mp3's in the library.

Yeah, I was afraid of something like this. But finding a free app kind
of eases the pain. You note TCPMP can play mp4. I suppose it can also
play mp3? Can TCPMP play across subfolders?

It plays MP3s and just about any kind of media file you're likely to run
across.

As for playing across subfolders, I don't think so- you can select
multiple files in a folder, but when you change folders to select new
files, the prior selections are cleared. You can, however, create a
playlist containing songs from different folders, and play the list in
either TCPMP or WMP. (Although TCPMP is a better player, I still use WMP
often since it can be controlled by MS Voice Command- i.e. I can say
"Play Elvis Costello" and it will play all the Elvis songs on my device.)
