I had this problem a couple years ago. When the 425 area code ( yes,
the whole area code) was introducted, Cingular didn't recognize it (
new area code) for 6 months. It was very frustrating. Calls to
everyone at Cingular and they still didn't do anything. It finally
begain working.
So, if it is really important you call those numbers, I would tell
Cingular I was cancelling during my trial period because you can't
call your friends. That might get them to call the right person (
whoever that might be) to fix it. Otherwise you may wait for months -
or longer.

Funny, my landline carrier (Sprint/Centel-Virginia) used to do that to
us... I had to call and "request" access to new area codes when they were
rolled out. At least the operator would complete my call for me without
any additional charges. :)

Please send me a list of any such exchanges VIA E-MAIL and I'll see if I
can find a reason why. Thanks!
