I'm surprised there are only two GAIT phones on the market
for Cingular (according to PhoneScoop).
Did a phone search and the only requirements I specified
were Cingualr and GAIT.
Nokia 6340i
Sony Ericsson T62u

phonescoop.com shows only three GAIT phones exist: Nokia 6340, Nokia
6340i, and Sony Ericsson T62u.
I don't get it, but that's how it is.
I won't change from my Preferred Nation account until there's a wider
variety of phones that can handle the Nation setup. That means GAIT.

That's correct, but if you click on the plain 6340, it will report
that Cingualr has discontinued it.
I agree, I would change until things settle down with better phones.
My Sprint contract is up in January.

That's pretty much it for any carrier. AT&T (I think) only offers the T62u and
doesn't even offer the much better Nokia phone.

That's not quite right. The S46 is dual digital, with different bands.

And how will an AT&T phone help me when I can only get Cingular
service, huh?

There are only 2 GAIT phones right now. The 6340i and T62U. There likely
will be no more GAIT phones, as they are a transitional phone to get people
by until GSM is wider spread. What you are waiting for is not more GAIT
phones, but more GSM coverage. If you want a GAIT phone, there are only two.
