I currently have a Sony T616 (unlocked) and will be travelling to Italy this
Chirstmas. DOes anyone know how much it will cost to use CIngular as my
provider over there? Would it be cheaper to get a prepaid sim?
If anyone could help me out, I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
John

Visit the Cingular web site, look at plans for your market. Click on
roaming, then international. I'll paste in my costs, for 38111:
Telecom Italia Mobile TIM 900/1800MHz #222 01 $1.29 N/A
You'd see network TIM or 222-010 or -01, operate on 1800 MHz, and
pay $1.29/minute for calls delivered to you in Italy--probably the
same amount for intra-Italy calls, and probably also for calls home
to the USA. I'm not sure about calls to a third country. I haven't
gone abroad with my SIM, yet, either.

SIM cards are cheaper. Check out Telestial, it's where I get my SIMs
from. For some countries (including Italy), ALL INCOMING CALLS are
FREE!!

I just went to Rome and used my T316 for 3 weeks, not alot at 1.29 a minate
but it was cheaper than 80 bucks for a Italian SIM card plus airtime......
It worked great every time I needed it..
