I figured with the SBC building downtown that i would have decent coverage.
I was roaming onto ATT all the time and it was really bad. I could hear fine
but my transmit was garglely the entire trip downtown the stadium at the
mall ??
Does anyone have better luck with GSM in San Diego?
Or even your TDMA expierence in San Diego for that matter. I dont think its
my phone.... it works great in New York roaming on ATT and wonderful in FL
on Bellsouth Cellulars towers.
very odd.

Cingular TDMA roams off AT&T Wireless TDMA in California(which imo is
not HORRIBLE in SoCal, though I was using a Moto V60i so maybe the
call quality varies by phone), but the only native coverage Cingular
has in Calif. is GSM, like in the Carolinas.

cingular has *no* TDMA coverage at all in California. If you have
TDMA service you will be roaming on ATTWS. If there are problems with
reception that's an ATTWS problem and has nothing to do with cingular.
