Hi,

We've been having some problems with our analog account in the ex-Cell
One/Boston (00007) market.

After the endless holds for customer service reps who say "You can not talk to
Tech Support directly" (as compared to Verizon, whom I infinitely prefer but
this is a legacy account with CO/Boston - Cingular and, fopr the meantime, we
need to keep it), we get a service tech to call us back (Jeff Waters from the
Tulsa Center), and, in response to a question as to why a given analog/617 #
receives a *phone* generated fast busy ONLY in downtown Boston (and not
elsewhere in 00007 and it other NAMs *on the same phone/ESN* work great in the
same areas), are told by Jeff that "We are getting rid on all analog in downtown
Boston".

When I asked "So why does a different NAM on the same phone work, or for that
matter, why if I switch our Verizon/00028 Boston market number to the "A" side
(hence roaming on 00007) (and force analog although it is not necessary since
the Verizon CDMA phone, when it can not detect CDMA coverage, will go to analog
in Cingular's TDMA/Analog 00007 Boston market), will that call work fine in
analog?"

Jeff really had no answer and just said "We don't support analog any more", so I
informed him I'll question that with corporate and see what they say (and if not
with them then with the FCC).

At any rate, I had someone look into getting their Executive Office number (I've
never had to deal with Cingular as an entity before; I used to know the
headquarters for Cell One Boston, ie, when they were still located in Mass and
had some idea where Boston was!), and with each number he called he got a
runaround and no one seemed to know what the number was for the corporate
headquarters (what a surprise! ;( )

Anyone out there know the number? I''d like to give the coporate level an
opportunity to address the issue before escalating it to an informal complaint.
(Saves both us and Cingular time and will resolve the issue more rapidly.)

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

-Doug

Well, actually, it was not as hard as we thought; found it via Superpages:

Cingular Wireless - Headquarters
5565 Glenridge Connector, Atlanta, GA 30342
(404) 236-6000

So there it is -- we actually got someone there who is looking into the
issue so hopefully we can resolve it at this level...

Thanks!
