On my previous cingular phone (a 6120) every incoming call showed a
CALLERID unless the caller had blocked his number. And if the number
was already in my phone's phonebook, then the caller's name showed up
along with his number.
Now, with my new 6340i and presumably GSM sometimes, many incoming
callers only blink "CALL" and show no id at all: no number, no name.
Even some frequent callers who always HAD been identified by callerid,
are now not identified except as "CALL".
It's quite annoying, because some of my clients come to me for
business and others come for abuse. I must know who is calling so I
can respond appropriately. "I didn't come here for abuse" "Yes you
did" "No I didn't" "Yes you did" "No I didn't" "Yes you did"...

I would go to your account on-line and see if you still have caller ID
listed as an account option. It should be listed with the date you ngot
the 6340i and an end date something like 2014. If not and you plan says
you have caller ID call CS immediately and have them put it back on.
Also, when I got my 6340i back in Dec., I had the same problem and the
people at off-hours tech in GA solved the problem by going to my switch
location on-line and changing some settings. It took a little longer,
since they were not used to the switch types in Michigan.
Good Luck,
