Hello:
I currently have a Nokia 6340i with Cingular. My plan is the old nation
plan, $69.99 for 850 mints and unlimited message, no charge. My market is
the Orlando area.
I want to keep this plan and also want to buy the new Nokia 6800, (GSM only
phone only).
This is my question...
If I am using the 6800, and travel to an area where there is no GSM
coverage. Can I just transfer the sim card from the 6800 and install it in
the old nokia 6340i and I will be able get service in areas where there is
no GSM signal?
I am planning on getting the new nokia 6800 from cingular, 2 year
agreement. I got the nokia 6340i from then too. Do I need some kind of
"unlocked code" from Cingular in order to use the sim card from the 6800
into the 6340i?
Thank you for the information and help.

You will not be able to keep the older plan you have. The billing
system will automatically remove it. The plan is incompatible to the
GSM phone.
UNLESS you buy the 6800 for retail price and just play swap with the
Sim, I do it that too but only in my local area, work fine.
If you try to buy the phone cheaper with a contract they will switch
the rate on you when they actaivate the phone.
