'Don't Be Evil,' Meet 'Spy on Everyone' — How NSA Deal Could Kill
Google
from Wired News by Noah Shachtman
The company once known for its "don't be evil" motto is now in bed
with the spy agency known for the mass surveillance of American
citizens. And that could cripple Google, a company that relies on
customers' goodwill for its success.

We all know that Google automatically reads our Gmail and scans our
Google Calendars and dives into our Google searches, all in an attempt
to put the most relevant ads in front of us.
Already, the Russian press are talking about Google’s decision to spy
with NSA, for instance. Hackers might be able to compromise some of
Google’s services, for a little while. The association with the NSA
could permanently cripple the company [Google]. The telegram companies
and the old-school telcos were virtually monopolies; customers had
nowhere to turn, if they wanted private communications. Bing and Yahoo
Mail are just a click away.

Did you realize if you have a Google OS based phone NSA now owns both
you and your friends?
Can you see why from the NSA viewpoint the Google Super Bowl ad was
very important?

Do you think the NSA really CARES? Your phone and mine are almost
certainly safe. Foreign agents with any smarts at all will not be using
cell phones for anything they don't want NSA/CIA/FBI/etc to know about!
They won't be using landlines either.
All my reports are sent by ordinary U.S. Mail to the Romulan Embassy.
Unless you have the secret decoder ring, they are indistinguishable from
WheatiO coupons.

Amen. Must be a slow news day.
This is one of the silliest rantings I've seen.

I'm sure that the Klingons have intercepted, copied, and forwarded on those
reports, and that they have the decoder ring. Klingons can be very sneaky
when they want to be.

What does this have to do with the iPhone, Vic? I can see what it might
have to do with the carrier newsgroups you crossposted it to, but not for
the iPhone.

What INCREDIBLY asinine nonsense.

NOTHING more.
But reality never HAS stopped you, has it, Vic???
