Can anyone tell me why it's so difficult to get a cingular service rep
who is knowlegeable enough when it comes to activating a cingular phone?
i have to always fight a battle when going through this process and
truth be told, customer service isn't exactly a cingular stronghold.the
reps half the time don't know what they're doing and I've had to hang up
and call in again just to get an experienced person on the line. I know
I'm not the only one who has gone through this.

Hmm...that's really strange. When I activated my phone, it was done
within minutes at the store. They called to run a credit check, had me
fill out the forms, and my phone was activated by the time I reached my
car.

Maybe I'm a rare exception. :)

Reached the car? The last phone I got was activated before I left the counter!

Yup...they said within a few minutes, and the first time I checked was
right outside my car. :)

chances are that you got a trainee.  After about 3 weeks of being
screamed at by customers my friend was a pro....The only you can really
learn is by trial and error.....give the person a break.
