Both would be an upgrade from my Sprint Samsung SPH-A500 and weights don't
make a difference and their sizes seem pretty negligible compared to my
A500. And price isn't a factor for me.

I guess it boils down to which phone has the most fun factor. I'd like to be
able to download custom polyphonic ringtones through the web on the phone at
the bare minimum, with a custom screensaver as being preferable. I'd also
like the phone to easily sync with my Outlook contacts (the easier to
better), hold multiple phone numbers (and other info) for each contact,
support picture ID, and be able to browse the web conveniently.

Which do you recommend?

Sounds like your looking for a TREO 600! :-)

Ha! That was funny!

I have the T616 & its a love/hate relationship!
I love the small size, features, appearance. Syncronizing via iR or
Blue Tooth is a breeze!
I hate the fact that the camera produces lousy pics, the phone doesn't
ring very loud, the earpiece volume is not loud enough,
not enough memory for many pics for caller id, (file size for pics
range from 43-58K), no repeating event option in the calendar.

I also had the 3600. Cool phone! Great pics! Tons of great apps for
it! It charges very quickly! But if you're a heavy text message,
emailer or chatter, you will find that the circular keypad will slow
you down tremendously! The circular keypad alone is what made me
return this phone! :(

I use mobile phones for its PDA-like features & messaging more than
voice, therefore I absolutly prefer the T616.
I've found the T616 to be very intuitive for text input.

But the bottom line is, I'm waiting for the 3620 or the 6600!

I had the same problems and observations till I upgraded to the newest
firmware version.  R1B somethingorother, I think.  The difference is like
black vs white.

I can't speak for the Nokia, but I own a T616 and can tell you it will do
all of the above.
