Hello fine folks...I've noticed that when my phone is in analog mode, the
battery doesn't last as long, and it seems to warm up quite a bit...am I nuts,
or is that plausible? (have 6340i) Thanks,

Analog uses more power, and some of that power is converted to heat.  -Dave

When your phone is in analog mode it is running at close to full power.
(most phones are 0.6 watts).  When your in digital mode your phone will
transmit at much lower power levels depending on what ever the cell tower
tells it to.  Sometimes this can be as low as 0.02 watts.  Why transmit at
high power when your right next to the tower?  The higher transmit power
uses more power from the battery.  And because transmitters are not very
efficient they create allot of heat.  So no your not nuts.  Well you may be
for noticing it but what you notice is normal.  It should even be discussed
in the owners manual for your phone!!!

That's normal.  Your phone uses more power in analog mode.  When the
phone has to work harder it will get warm to the touch.

Using analog will certainly drain your battery.  I try to talk with the
phone plugged into the charger.  I still have spare batteries, but rarely
use them.

So where are you in this Grreat land requiring analog?
