I want to replace my Motorola c331g with another. I just need a simple GSM
phone with basic features. No bells and whistles needed. The features that
are important to me are:
- good reception
- good battery time
- cheap (I hope to find one used)
- the smaller the better

Also, can someone tell me what I need to do to switch phones? Do I just swap
out the SIM card? Or do I need to tell Cingular and pay a fee?

Thanks,

-John

Do you like a Motorola V60gi (or V60g)?  Ericsson T28w?  Ericsson T39?

I have a Nokia 3595 and like it a lot. It is simple, and has great
reception. I do believe you can just swap the SIM, but I'm not 100% sure.

Just swap the SIM cards.

The above statement indicates that all new  GSM phones are unlocked

Well, then it is a bit more complicated unless it is with the same carrier,
then it is a swap the SIM situation.

From different carriers, you might have to have the new phone unlocked.
