I would like to download ringtones through USB rather than paying for
internet and messaging service. Is there a way to do this or am I stuck
with "Air" download only.

I'm not sure, but I think it is over the air downloads.

Perhaps, the Motorola Data toolbox. Will give the capability to download
strait from the PC.
I hope to be getting one soon. I'll post results.

The programs you are looking for are MBE.exe and PST.  PST can be DL from
Motorola's web site. (Well you use to be able to, not sure any more.)  You
will need to do a google search for MBE. All this works with a USB cable,
just download the drivers from the Motorola web site (hope you have a fast
connection, the file is huge)

It took me about 3 days of searching google to find all the info I needed
and I did this about 6 months ago, so I have forgotten a lot of it. One
thing I didn't forget is the two main programs MBE and PST.

Good luck

and don't give up!

I sent an Email to the Motorola support staff last night. Hopefully they
can give me the full story. I will see what I can find on my own also.

I will never give up:) Thanks

I bought the mobile phone tools (w/usb cable) and it has a place where you
can change the ring tones but I have yet to figure out how to get them from
the pc to the t720.  If anyone knows, I'd sure appreciate some help.

Went digging way back into the archives and found these links:

Once you get your PC and phone talking, go to these two site and get games
and ring tones.  On the T720, I have noticed that any MIDI file works for
ring tones (well I have not found any that don't work yet)

Good luck!  Again, don't give up!
