I am coming up on the end of a 2 year contract w/ Cingular and am very
tempted to bolt, but I don't know if I should be hating my phone or my
service. Most frustrating is that I seem to live in a dead area in Lincoln
Park - I can't get or keep a decent signal in my apartment and have to go 2
blocks away before I can count on making or receiving a call. Granted, I am
using an "ancient" Nokia 3360, but the phone and service work great when I'm
traveling in NY and LA. My reasons for possibly staying are that I only pay
$29 a month and have free roaming, both big factors for me. Does anyone
think my service might be improved with a better handset, or will it not
make a difference because of where I live? If I bolt, I'd probably go with
the more expensive Verizon, based on word of mouth and the latest Consumer
Reports article. Is it worth the money to switch?

A Nokia 3360? dump that dinosaur for a GSM phone. The 6340i is your
friend.

An outside antenna may improve the signal at your apartment, set a mag mount
on the Barbq outside and see if you get a signal.

The answer to that question is in the future, I would go the no contract or
1 year contract if I wasn't sure of the answer.
