Sooo many posts about Nokia & Ericsson but I want feedback on the
Siemens A56.  Particularly the RF performance and the sound
quality/volume?  I'm a basic user and not into the advanced features
yet (but ya never know...)

I appreciate any user info.

Did I ask this wrong...or is there really nobody using this phone?

There really is nobody using that phone.  ;-)  It's an ok phone... not
really great, not really horrible either.

It's really very much comparable to the Motorola V120c

Since Cingular made this phone one of the free choices many stores
have been out of stock (at least in my area).  There's good feedback
and an overall pretty good ranking on phonescoop.com--but not many
votes total.  I'm sure there are far better phones available--but
maybe not for free (or nearly)?  I'm not into games, cameras &
internet on my phone--just want one that sounds clear and doesn't drop
calls...things that apparently many phones fall short on.

I couldn't stand this phone. it was unnecessarily difficult to use, i could
barely hear the ringer, it would break apart in my pocket constantly and its
number memory was pathetic (50 numbers). no difference in reception over my
previous phone (nokia 5190) and no place for an ext antennae to hook up. i
had mine replaced (if you want to read the long story below click the link)
with a nokia 3595 which is really nice and i am very happy with so far.
