Hi. I am going to upgrade my T68i to a T610.
Any recommendations on good places to buy it on contract, and which
networks?
I use it mainly for SMS, and send a lot (between ?80 and ?180 total bill
p/m, even with 100SMS free), but would also like occasional X Network calls
aswell. So, maybe O2 seems the best option with one of their SMS bundles.
I must admit, I like Carphone Warehouse, and would consider going back to
them if the deal was right.
There are so many mobile phone retailers out there now, it is a nightmare,
unless you know what you are doing.
Cheers.

I myself just ordered a T610 (to upgrade my T68i) on O2 online which comes
with 500 free texts which I think would be useful for you seeing you spend
that much. If you buy via the link www.o2.co.uk/ucas you get ?25 off the
usual ?49.99 and can also trade in for up to ?50 (you only get ?25 for the
T68i, my recommendation is sell it on Ebay for ?50 instead). I'm however
waiting for them to get it in stock before they send it :-(
Another option if you aren't fond of the idea of O2 online is Orange.
www.orange.co.uk in the special deals section for this month they have
something they call "square deal" with a number of free texts etc... Only
thing is the phone will have Orange written everywhere (not as bad as
Vodafone live but still annoying) and the phone will be most likely locked
to Orange. Also their handset cost is more but it depends on the tariff you
choose.
Hope this helps...

Cheers bud.
Those text bundles on O2 seem pretty good, so will probably go with them.
I've never been a fan of Orange, because in my area the reception is pretty
hit and miss.

O2 offer good value, but their support can only be described as crap.
Problem1: Each time I came to contact them via email, they ignored it. I
always end up having to phone a 50p/min helpline to actually get anything
done. They have completely ignored at least 2 support emails from me, and
for the third one they send me a email a couple of weeks later saying they
had lost my email, and could I resubmit it pelase. Of course i ended up
paying 50p/min to get it sorted
Problem2: The online billing thing simply does not work. According to my
sister who has had O2 online for a while, the facility to see calls from the
next bill is broken
But it does offer great value for money if you text a lot (like me), 500 /
month is not bad, but be aware that you will effectively have to pay per
incident for any kind of support
