you cant, you cant do it on any phone. Its automatically 1. You have to
start with 2, 3, 4 etc.

Just to clarify

I want to keep button one as the answerphone hotkey - I just want to change
the voicemail number stored on it (it's wrong)

I don't seem to have a the option of
Messaging...Options....Voice mail number

even though my t610 is NOT customised in any way and never has been

Following up my own reply..

I got the option when I used an O2 sim card AND if I pressed the hotkey it
asked me for the number

When I use my brand new Orange SIM it hides this option and places a new
list of Service Numbers in the
phonebook/ special numbers menu

If I select answer phone from here it dials ok
If I use no1 hotkey i get number error

I will call Orange and ask for a sim update to see if they can sort it out
