I have not seen many posts so I suppose everyone understands this, but using
the file transfer, you can put any .mid file into your phone and use it as a
ring tone.. or an MP3 'type' player.. Midi files are fairly small.. and I
have used several holiday ones for my ring tones. If there is a 'problem'
it's that the midi files play much longer than 20 - 30 seconds - but your
ring tones will sound great for FREE..

Same here.  MIDI ringers rule.  I use Anvil Studio to edit midis for phone
use (cut out the best part of the song, etc), but it's a complex program.
You can also use PSMplay for simpler trimming use.

Cool, I downloaded PSMPLAY and have edited many .mid songs.. did not know
this existed.. but.. is there a 'cleaner' version.. the one I found seems
old - looking for a newer version..

I have V3.8.. and several things you can read well.

Thanks

Posted link to new version in reply to your other post.  I used the older
version because I found it first.

So far I only use PSMplay for a workaround on a few MIDIs that wouldn't open
with Anvil Studio (error of some sort) and another file had a strange
mystery track I couldn't find (problem separating tracks for editing).  In
both cases I use PSM to convert to a SMAF and then convert back to midi, and
it somehow fixes it.

I use Anvil Studio because I like to edit track volume (for balance or for
total loudness), notes, etc, to make it sound "right."  Some MIDI songs are
not finely tuned to sound the way the real song does, so I hack at it,
sometimes even successfully.

One question - does the T610 use the General MIDI instrument set to play
back .mid files?
