P800 stopped syncing w/ outlook !!!!!

I have a P800 that used to sync to my xp laptop just fine, then I go
and download the most recent version of the sync software from sony
ericson website and install, thinking it will make my syncing more
stable.  Phone still connects to laptop fine, but then when syncing it
jumps right to syncing completed.  Then go look at the phone and no
changes have occurred.  I don't know what to do here ... I can't do a
master reset on the phone because i don't know the pass code.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Running XP professional with Outlook Professional 2003.

Mack Consulting,

If you have firewall software installed, disable it and see if that helps.
If so, configure your firewall software to allow full access for the PC
Suite
programs listed in the PC Suite readme file.

I had all kinds of trouble when I upgraded to the new Suite. I went back to
the old one and things were fine again.

I have had exactly the same problem twice and each time I go back to the
original out-of-the-box suite that works perfectly.
