I bought a Kensington Bluetooth adaptor and was successful synchronizing
Outlook with my phone. It seems that's the only thing the Sony software is
good for though. I can't pair the computer with the phone, using the
Kensington software, for the purpose of uploading data to the phone. I think
it's a password conflict, but can't figure out how to identify my computer
with the password the phone is looking for. If anyone has had a similar
problem, I'd appreciate advice...TIA.

When asked for the password in the pairing process, pick the password and
must enter it into both devices.

I've just ordered my Bluetooth adapter, but it is a Belkin model.
I hope we can find someone to help as I may soon be in a similar
situation.

Belkin here. They work flawlessly.

Using Ambicom CompactFlash BT, works flawlessly after much angst fiddling.
Bastages.

Funny you should say that. I originally bought an Ambicom, and after tons of
'fiddling', I could only get it to work on 2 of my three desktops. That's
how I wound up with the Belkin.

Use these instructions to pair up the belkin:

Thanks, but I don't need instructions on how to pair up the Belkin. The
Belkin I got works wonderfully. It was the ambicom that would not work on
one of my 3 PC's.

On my laptop (XP Pro) using the drivers/software downloaded form Ambicom
(not the ones that came with the device. Works flawlessly but you have to
remove both the card and the adapter while powering on (yes I know).

Try it you may be surprised that it works.

I prefer using a device I plug in, and use <wink>. The software wouldn't
even recognize the "My Bluetooth Places" folder on the one machine of the
three it wouldn't work That was using the older, included software and the
software off their website. I was able to make it work on that machine using
some software from another manufacturer, hacking the license.dat file, but
after all the trouble I had to go through to make it work, and all the
negative reviews on the net for the Ambicom adapter, I returned it for one
that worked properly.
