Hello

Im new to this group so I make apologies now for anything and everything
blah blah usual crap when in unknown groups...

I have been around the SE website, and found the software update site. It
gets to a point where it just hangs and says "Please wait... Checking the
installation of Sony Ericsson Update Service". Its been there for a few
hours now, whilst i went out. Needless to say its not going anywhere, and
ive tried it a couple of times.

Any ideas why its not working??

Cheers

If you type

"Checking the installation of Sony Ericsson Update Service"

into Google (including "" quotes) you will see a number of links to help
you.

The first (top) answer when I tried was this link

http://www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice/nocache/P900/stepCheck.jsp?Recovery=true

which took me to the page you describe.

At this point a window opened which asked me if I trusted content from SE
and did I want to allow the download of some SE software

Another article from Esato suggested that your PC is not allowing such
downloads, and to check you have XP and service pack 1

etc
etc
etc

Im running 2000. It says "SP3 required" but I have SP4. Do they mean SP3 or
greater? If not, is there anything I can do, except wait until they update
their site??
