Why when I press and hold a numeric key to call up a number is the
list presented different from the one if I go through the menu and use
phonebook. This has all happened since I totally reloaded my phonebook
from Outlook after a SIM/Service change. Please help

the z600 doesn't combine your contacts that are on the phone and that
are on the sim so you can have two totally different phonebooks.

either copy all contacts from sim to phone or phone to sim then it'll
make em the same.

Thanks for your help so far, I deleted all contacts/phonenumbers from
SIM and Phone memory. Sync'd up with Outlook and it downloaded the
450+ numbers I use, and now they are in the phone memory, but I cannot
access them by holding down the numeric key (it says list empty). If I
copy from phone memory to SIM, the SIM cannot store more than 250
numbers, is there anyway round this problem, as I used to use the
Numeric Key way of phoning numbers all the time, hoping you can help.

As soon as I hit down, it comes up with "List is Empty"

I think you might still have SIM memory set as a default location for your contacts.
I've no idea how to change it in Z600, but you should be able to see something like:
Phone & SIM
SIM only
Phone only.

Select the phone memory and you'll be able to access it with 'joystick down' (well, on T630 anyway).

Once that's sorted you could also check your synch listing preferences - first name or surname (last name) - if you're only using 'name' field for a full name in your phone, and your Outlook list is sorted by surnames, you might not see any names at all in your phone. Of course, you won't get 'list is empty' message in this case.

Yes I used to have these options in previous phones, but I've been
through all the menu's and I can't find it.
