While I'm perfectly happy with my P900, I've ran into a small problem that
might turn into something bigger.

I can't do backups.

Whenever I try I get a program error when I come to the file "Agenda" and
the backup stops (and the phone restarts with a few more program error
messages).

Has anyone seen this error previously?

Or know of a way to "rebuild" the Agenda file?

(I have Handy Day installed as well)

Hello,

I think I have te same problem as yours.
I'm trying to make a Backup of the data on my P900 (upgraded with the latest
firmware),
but the process is aborted before the normal ending.
I receive a message on the computer:
"failed to backup file 'C:\documents\Agenda\Agenda.dat'
or "failed to backup file 'C:\startup\AlarmServer.ini'
Then I get the message "Failed to back up: Retry or Skip ?"

And there is a endless quantity of files that I must skip , so I preferred
to cancel the process.

On my mobile, the reported error mention:

Program Closed
-------------------
Program backuppro_00812B70
Reason code USER
Reason number 30

and after:

Program Closed
------------------
Program MSTREAMMAN
Reason code KERN-EXEC
Reason number 3

Maybe it is because I have cancelled the Backup process, but I don't know
wky this one does not complete and is blocked when reaching some files to
back up.

Anyway, I didn't find any solution so far. Someone at the SE helpdesk told
me that I have maybe a
filesystem error and that I should make a master reset (or even a format of
the C: drive !)
Since I would like to make a backup before dropping my data, I want to see
if there are no other options
than the master reset. And also because I'm not 100% sure it will solve my
problem.

PS/ I have already met on the newsgroups several people with the same
problem, but no one has found
a suitable solution. I hope there is one !

Joe.

Hi,
Did you ever find a solution to the back up? FYI I had originally mad
a B/U with version 1 and did not encounter any problems so I assum
there is a bug with V2

Yep had the same problem and the Ericsson Help on their website did
not give  an answer until they came out with the later version. The
answer to the problem is now there.

The cure is:

Remove the Ericsson software completely using the control panel's add
& remove programmes.

If you have any software such as 'Registry First Aid Agent' then use
it to clear out redundant bits. Although this is not essential.

Switch off and re-boot your PC.

Do a fresh install of the Ericsson s/w and all should be O'K.

Your old backups will still be there.

If it's any consolation I have  had to do it twice, most likely my
fault with being over zealous with my cleaning up from time ot time.

Good luck
