Hi-
Have been owner of a T68i on voda for about a year and the reception is
terrible, in my bedroom I can barely get a signal, housemates on Voda with
Nokia handsets don't have a problem.
I am now eligible for an upgrade and want the T630 but is is the reception
significantly better? I'd really like to be able to make a call from my
room!
Any advice much appreciated
Cheers
Jez.

Hi Jez,
thus spoke Jez:

Maybe it's better, but it's still very poor - at least compared
to my ME45i.

Had the same problem a few years ago and thus changed from
Vodafone to O². Perhaps you want to check if other providers
give better reception? If not, get a Siemens.
Greets, Dirk
P.S.: T610 and O² is not a very good choice, anyway - the T610
still has problems recognizing the home zone. :o/

After suffering appalling RF reception issues with both a T68i and T610 on
Orange for the last 12 months I just bought a Nokia 6310i
To say the RF reception is in a different league would be an understatement.
I realise it does not have the bells, whistles & colour screen of the
T-Series but all I need a mobile phone for is to make/take telephone calls -
a 'feature' that most manufacturers seem to have lost sight of in their
quest for feature packing & miniaturisation.
The 6310i redresses the balance IMHO although I have no first hand
experience of other Nokia models having always been an Ericsson man since my
first GH338 (I think)...
SE seems to have lost the way in producing a handset that is capable of
holding a signal and making/taking telephone calls ever since they moved
away from external antenna in my experience...
As for 'features' for me personally if I want to take a picture I use my
digital camera.
Likewise if I want to look at a colour screen then I fire up my iPAQ or
laptop.
I for one couldn't risk the T630 being no different to the previous
generation with regard to RF performance as it bears more than a passing
resemblance which is a real pity as I liked the SE menuing system & OS and
still have hundreds of pounds worth of genuine accessories for the T68i/T610
but at the end of the day I have a basic requirement and need for a phone
not a fashion accessory but appreciate others requirements may be different.
