T610 - O2 Genie SIM - WAP not working

Anyone using a T610 with an old Genie (O2) SIM Card and having problems
access WAP with Basic WAP settings, not GPRS.
WAP had been working fine, but about 3 weeks ago the phone stopped allowing
me to access WAP. I've been onto O2 Customer Care several time and I'm
getting the run around on their 50p a minute support line. However, last
week they owned up an said there was a problem but I'm not sure this is the
case as I can access Genie WAP with the same SIM card in a Nokia 8310 or
Nokia 6100, I believe there's some sort of compatibility problem between a
Genie SIM and the SE T610. Nb. I can also put another O2 SIM card (Pay as
you go) in the T610 and WAP works fine.
Anyone any ideas?

Conspiracy theory to follow:

Maybe they messed around with the software on the T610 (assuming you got it
from O2), and perhaps other new phones too, to try and get people off the
old Genie tariffs :-O
