I try to use the Ericsson Update Service on my P900 and each time I
put it back into the cradle, it seems to turn itself on again. This
makes the Update Service go into error and prevents me from updating
the firmware.

The P900 is a CDA162004/1 runing the organiser R1A05.

Anybody with a solution ? anybody with a similar problem ?

I use XP Pro and it's fully updated.

Please help !!

Thanks

Yeah. Don't take it out of the cradle!
Put it in, start the update and LEAVE the P900 in the cradle until the whole
deal is over.
Don't touch it (I believe it says DON'T TOUCH IT approx 12 times in the
screens approaching the upgrade).

I tried that as well.

I put it in the cradle, I turn it off. It stays off for about one
second, then it turns back on by itself with the little red ligth on
the top and shows the batteries charging, ...then the red light turns
green by itself.

Then the Update Service says the phone is on OR the batteries are not
charged. But the batteries are charged and since the phone top light
is green, I assume the Update Service sees the phone "On" and then
stops.

If you have a P900, please tell me what happens when you put it in the
cradle and turn it off.

Did you unplug the charger from the cradle?

Don't turn it off. It says: don't touch.
A) Put the phone in the cradle.
B) Start up the upgrade process - don't touch the phone. Not when it's on,
off, booting, asking for pin. Don't touch it.
And see.....

Once the process is finished, you'll see the message on the screen. But
until then - don't touch it.
Good luck ;-)
