I'd really like to be able to compose texts on my T3 and beam them via
IR to my Sony-Ericsson T310. I can beam pictures and adresses (whole
batches of them at a time from my T3 Contacts application) without
problem but texts fail. Any suggestions or solutions will be most
gratefully recieved

How have you been beaming things across at the moment? I'm not sure about
the T3, but I've been using an old m500 and I needed the Standard GSM Driver
to talk to my SE T300:

And I also installed the Phone Link Update:

Then using software such as getGSM, I can easily send SMSes from the Palm.

Of course, I'm only running OS4.1 but you might still need some of these
files under OS5.
