I'm about to get a z600 on Monday and want to check its firmware is
up-to-date. Can anyone tell me the latest for the UK and how to check it
please.
If any experts know how to flash it or get it flashed I'd appreciate
instructions on how to do it.
Thanx

R6 is the newest in Denmark.

And in this context, "<" would correspond to button??

Left.  And before you ask, ">" corresponds to right!  ;-)

Having said that, the sequence looks wrong to me.  The normal sequence on SE
phones is >*<<*<*

Maybe I'm dense, but left and right on the ringshaped joystick-button
does nothing on my Z600 (swedish) unless I'm in a grapgical menu mode.

Ooops..  spoke too soon. (sorry for any inconvenience)
">*<<*<*" gives me a service-menu, (are there a lot of these hidden
menus in there?) where choosing Serviceinformation->Softwareinformation
tells me I have:
R5B001    prgCXC12-
5728.EU.4
R5B001    prgCXC12-
5760TAE

LCD SW Versions
Test: 782078
Current: 200309090

Camera SW Versions
Test: 0
Current: 200310100

Anpassning MS             (swedish for adaptation   ed. note)
CDA102233/1 R8A

Anpassning TAE
CDA102233/1 R8A

ITP Version: 031010
1414 02CXC125702_-
TP

Hope this means my phone is current (since it's only a few weeks old).
Otherwise very interrested in how to update it.

As I said, there's a R6 software.

What are you planning installing it with?  At the very least you'll need a
Terminator dongle and a copy of DIV, but be aware that SE have closed the
bootloader bug in later T610 firmware (And I suspect the same on the Z600)
which means after you've upgraded to it you won't be able to do anything
else (unlocking, further flashing etc.)

In a mobile service shop.

OK. I was naive enough to think it was something I could do myself,
since the phone has internet capabilities..
